The Hydrofarm Xtrasun Convertible System comes with a HPS bulb and a Horizontal Wing Reflector. The Ballast has a 5 year warranty, is air cooled, and has an heat sink outer casing for quick cooling. The horizontal wing reflector has the bubbled surface for even light dispersement and hangs easily.

The Xtrasun ballast is one of the coolest running ballasts on the market today! It contains an internal seperation plate which keeps the heat of the transformer away from the capacitor and ignitor. This translates into a longer life for both these components.

These ballasts now come with dual voltage. You no longer have to specify if you want 120 or 240 V. or open the box to rewire. The systems comes with the 120 V. cord and 240 V. cords are available for $10.00.

High Pressure sodium lamps (HPS) provide the red light that fruiting/flowering plants require to bloom. Encourage your flowering plants to bloom with the use of a high pressure sodium system. (These systems ship in two boxes)

Each kit offers a different complete system; all have convertible ballasts. The Xtrasun 400 Watt kit includes the Xtrasun 6 reflector (includes removable lens, flanges and cord); the convertible 400 Watt ballast (can run either HPS or MH); a standard 400 Watt HPS (high pressure sodium) bulb. The high quality cost effective Xtrasun offers a 5 year warranty on its highly reflective European specular aluminum lining. The ballast converts voltages necessary to run the grow lights.

This particular ballast has the flexibility of using MH or HPS in one ballast. The standard HPS bulb, with its red spectrum, is for flowering while the MH bulb, with a blue spectrum, is for vegetative growth.
